I've thought of another one. Man Utd to go out in the 3rd Champions League play-off round.

They've got a few teams that can cause them problems, with so many changes again this summer it could be a problem for them. Lets hope so anyway!

So the consensus in this thread is we won't make the CL group stage, our signings will flop, LVG will be sacked, fall out with the team in doing so and we won't make top four. Anyone want to predict we'll get relegated?

Pretty much. Except all United fans think they'll win the league.

United are in about as good a position to challenge for the title as they were last year, they've got one new signing who's guaranteed to do well. The rest of them are hit and miss. They shouldn't drop out of the top 4 but I hope they do.

There's a nice happy medium there where we'll be about 3rd, get to the CL last 16 and semis of cups. But where's the fun in that eh?
United played Jesse Lingard wing back with Fletcher and Cleverley in midfield for the first game last year. Basically all the new signings were after the first game. So definitely better prepared this year for a start.

Schneiderlin is guaranteed, the rest could go either way honestly. I think Depay could be great and Schweinsteiger has his huge reputation but imo Schneiderlin is your best signing and the only one I think who is coming in and is going to improve United straight away.

No I absolutely agree. Obviously anyone coming from abroad is a risk but I'd honestly say the one you haven't mentioned has a great chance of hitting the ground running early on.
Darmian was excellent in pre-season, solid at the back and good going forward. He's kind of the one without much talk around him which hopefully allows him to go under the radar early on.

I also think Schneiderlin will be our best signing. I can see him being the ideal Carrick replacement that we need so badly. Due to the position he plays though I don't think he'll get as much recognition at the end of the season by the majority of people as he would if he was a forward getting goals. Schweinsteiger could be the player that finally replaces Roy Keane in terms of combativeness, stature and influence in central midfield. Part of me hopes he'll have some on-field leadership role due to his vast experience.

i like Schneiderlin but theres no way you can say he's guaranteed to be a success considering he's never played for a top team and the hefty fee.
especially when you consider Vidal went for the same fee.
