Saka would be perfect in that role, overlapping Sterling.

How are these 4th in the world? Even at the strongest they’re shite. Big vanilla waistcoat nonce on the sidelines as well coasting by off the easiest run to a World Cup semi final ever. It was the City league cup run of world cups.

I wouldn't mind it being dross if there was actually a sign that we were working towards something.
But I felt there was more of a sense of purpose under Roy.

literally 3 of the most exciting young footballers in world football there in Sancho, Sterling and Trent and not one of them is having their strengths played to. Trent is obviously hugely talented but he also has a system with us whereby Salah, Mane and Robertson are constantly moving to take advantage of what he does. That’s at odds with how Sancho likes to play and Sterling hasn’t ran in behind on a long ball since he scored against Arsenal for us in 2014. So you have to make up for that by having a half decent midfield. So he goes with Declan Rice and the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ who i’m probably watching play for the 3rd time and I already hate that he’s being called that.

Turns out there's a reason Phillips hasn't played Premier League football yet. Also as Paul said 'Yorkshire Pirlo' is hilarious considering I haven't seen him play a forward pass yet.

Phillips and Rice together is almost as bad as Rice and JWP, we need a cm who gets hold of the ball and actually picks out passes. He had JWP playing as more of an attacking midfielder the other day and now we have 2 fully defensive ones lol

Convinced Yorkshire Pirlo is used tongue in cheek by Leeds fans because he's literally a ball winning midfielder whose been at his best with someone he can play the ball five yards to and get back into his position.
Like, say Grealish or Madison.
Can someone explain to me why Declan Rice was so hyped? He wouldn't get into the ROI team FFS.

A couple of times I have switched over just to check but I've been much happier with the cricket. And we're fielding like shite today.

Only been half watching this, but England’s all out attack did need to be curtailed. Taking Sancho off the right call for me.

Interesting to see how hard the media go for Southgate after this, and how he responds, because a lot of the live texts and general views are not pretty.
