Anyone had a decent experience coming off of meds like sertraline?
Was doing alright the first four days but last two it's been like I'm verbally and physically coherent but mentally feels like I'm pissed, head spinning, drowsy, no balance.
Only real solution I've seen is to start retaking tablets or hope it clears within a few weeks.

After 2.5 years I developed an allergic reaction a few weeks back to them so had to come off mine cold turkey. I feel like I've got the flu, all over ache, physically tired and my brain keeps feeling like it's having weird spasms. My boss seems fairly sympathetic though and works not too busy so I'm taking a few days off. Am just gonna have to see this out tbh. Hope you're doing better, if you are how long did it take?

Had a panic attack on the M4 earlier so I'm doing great I was a fool and I came off harshly so I had similar symptoms to you, was dizzy as fuck and just not really coherent. Only went away when I changed tablets as was told after a week without I could do so but they didn't agree with me either; currently on fluexotine which I think is what Pro-Zac is but that's fucking ruined me so I'm probably going back on to Sertaline for a bit. Would be worth seeing if you can get a different tablet and see if it helps, I think I was on metazepine before this but they knocked me out.

I'd been reducing my dosage beforehand in an effort to come off anyway because it was making me just ridiculously tired during the day. The sudden allergic reaction just sped up the process so coming off them and just weathering this is probably my best bet rather than trying to find another tablet to wean me off with no idea what side effect that'll have.
I was on fluoxetine 2.5 years back and also developed an allergic reaction to them. Didn't really mind they felt pretty useless tbh, at least for me. Properly fucked my libido as well.
Tbh, I've been doing weekly therapy for half a year now which is going well so all the pills really seem to do is give me the shit side effects.

Yeah part of why I wanted to come off it was just sheer exhaustion.
I was on 100mg at the time and I think they said it should clear after a week, no more than two. I was getting progressively worse after 6 days when I started taking others though.
Glad the therapy seems to be working - I've never really found it much use for me but that's as much to do with my own negative disposition towards it I fancy.

Just realised that people who talk about seeing something in their mind's eye aren't just being pretentious dickheads and that I just don't have the ability to visualise and haven't for the last 27 years. Bit disconcerting.

I'd honestly never ever heard of this being a thing before and an hour after seeing your post I saw this thread on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/tifu/comments/c4i94n/tifu_by_explaining_my_synesthesia_to_my_boyfriend/ Must be a staggering revelation, feel dor you man.

Yeah, that's how I figured it out. Just makes a lot of things make much more sense. Meditation makes a lot more sense now, it's not just people staring at their eyelids pretending they're on a beach.

so AA boys how'd we go about that anyway just turn up or Waheyyyyy, pretty fitting that I don't remember this. Props to you both Бенне, Olivier for replying at the time. Something obviously stuck as I've hit 1 year in sobriety last Weds. Still no chip though cus the meetings are a bit congested for my liking. Absolutely nuts what stopping drinking can do for your life & mental health. Feel like a completely different bloke- an actual functioning adult now. Aug 4th last year I could barely stand or speak at a preseason game against Inter cus I was so smashed, and now I'm fucking meditating and having cups of tea and falling asleep at half 9 watching repeats of Black Books and Peep Show. What a life.

Nah, wrecks my back. Been doing bike rides a fair bit which helps occupy my mind. Just over a year to date when I had my worst ever panic attack and was curled up on a bathroom floor in Spain. Day-to-day is under control still but I need to find a way to manage big change, or disruption to routine.
