Im floored by the most recent episode of Killing Eve. Jodie Comer is an elite actress, genuinely one of the best in the world. And the writing that they’ve done for Villanelle from the beginning is incredible, but her arc in this last episode is phenomenal.

I thought Normal People was a great adaptaion but if I hadn't read the book first there'd be some aspects I'd be frustrated over. {SPOILER}The whole breakup at the end of 1st year college and the BDSM stuff in Sweden were explained much better in the book imo

Yeah I massively agree, they were both a bit confusing and not explained all that well. I really enjoyed it but I’m not going quite as far as most people on it. Also I get Marianne comes from wealth but there’s far too many red wine dinner parties for a bunch of uni students surely?

Paul any recommendations on Spanish history stuff or the like? I know there's a relative lack of Franco related stuff because of the pact to forget but I've been able to find nothing

Red wine dinner parties, summers in Italy combined with scaldy cans in an overcrowded dorm full of prententious debating heads is common place. There are plenty of the likes of Jamie in Trinity

Also I get Marianne comes from wealth but there’s far too many red wine dinner parties for a bunch of uni students surely? trinity is a different world from the uni life you'd expect tbh. though I went to Galway and there were plenty around organising red wine dinner parties there as well. But I do think they try and emphasise the social circle she's in by throwaway lines about Peggy's mum being a surgeon or whatever it was. And her just having a house ready for her in Dublin versus Connell having to share a room. It's maybe a bit of a lazy stereotype too but the accents are a big indicator, how her Irish "friends" in those initial uni episodes speak would just be an indicator that they're coming from a certain part of Dublin and would be very well off. As well as the English accents being more posh. Whereas Connell is a country, culchie guy, and he's living with a fella from the North, not as much money around. And like lgig said, there are plenty of Jamie types around Trinity. It's one thing I think they really nailed in general from an Irish POV, the school years and into the college years, the different social classes you come across and all that. Class isn't really something people talk about in Ireland, or at least they didn't use to, changing a bit now I think. I definitely think Marianne's time in Sweden is better in the book, but so much of what's happened there is going on in her head that it's pretty hard to get across on screen I would think. Daisy Edgar Jones said that was the most challenging stuff to shoot as well. In fact that part of the show being quite weak is sort of how I worried most of the show would end up, because so much of the book is internalised.

Episode 9 of The Last Dance was absolutely sensational. What a brilliant series

Dark Tourism was a good binge watch, graphic in places and a bit Louis Theroux style. Does a fair bit to cement the view that Yanks are a weird bunch.
Also binged through McMillions earlier - it's massively overrated but it's still an interesting watch.

How powerful was the ending of episode 7 of The Last Dance?
Fuck me what a series. Got 3 episodes left and I'm already feeling gutted that it's nearly over.

One of the best sports documentaries I’ve ever seen, even as a casual at best NBA fan.
Really interesting the mindset of someone like Michael Jordan, how driven he was by literally any tiny comment to not just beat someone but destroy them, elite mentality
