His world has crumbled with all the defeats, he’s having a confidence crisis. He was never great but he always had supreme confidence, that seems to have gone now and the wrong place to lose your confidence is in a Boxing ring.
Last night was the right fight for him, he needed an easier touch to build himself back up but I think it might have had the opposite affect. If they were managing him properly he needs another 1 or 2 of those but I’m assuming they’re gonna jump straight in with Fury or Wilder.

I reckon even Whyte beats that Joshua because he's terrified of being caught again.
It's mad too because he's not exactly glass chinned, he's taken some heavy shots and been fine, but it's obviously a mental issue now.

I do cringe every time I watch Joe Joyce. His combination of incredible chin and terrible defense means he eats an uncomfortable number of flush power shots every fight.
As an aside his hand speed makes him look like he's fighting underwater.
Took the loss well though, always comes across as a nice bloke.

Feel like they've spent the last week hyping him up as elite level when in reality he's only ever been a bit of a plodder with a granite chin.
I cannot believe how slow his punches are. Zhang obviously carries power but wasn't necessarily impressed by his work either.

Crawford made that look easy, leagues ahead of Spence.

Gutted for Spence tbh. Really thought he'd have a chance. Is Crawford just that far ahead of everyone else or did the weight play a part?

Rarely watch Boxing now but will always watch certain fighters, Crawford and Inoue being 2 of them this week. Didn't pay any attention to the build up this week so it's been quite interesting looking back at all the people saying it was a 50/50 fight, I never really saw it that way at all.
He'll go up to 154 and take all those belts off Charlo if he wants to. Truly special fighter.

Wilder sleeps Joshua inside three rounds.
I have no idea what on Earth his new coach wants from him but he's made him the most boring, slow and utterly one dimensional fighter.
Which is fine if you're a Chisora who can take a punch. But anybody with a bit of power will bang him, and anybody with a bit of guile will move around him.

Credit to Ngannou, he didn't look like an MMA fighter trying to box, he looked like a boxer. Nevertheless Fury was absolutely fucking dreadful.
It's one of two things: Either Fury is past his prime and on the decline or (and more likely imo) he did not take this seriously at all and showed up out of shape and unprepared thinking he could easily sleepwalk through it.
I hope its the latter and this serves as a wake up call. For the Usyk fight I want both to be at their best to give the best fight possible, he'd be more motivated anyway but I hope this gives him a kick up the arse to sort his shit out and come in in the best possible shape against Usyk.

I don't think this changes the Usyk fight too much tbh. Last night was Fury underprepared, not taking it seriously and I think most importantly in there with a stronger man.
He couldn't use his size or his weight as an advantage last night and that meant he had to actually box and move which he wasn't in shape for.
Absolutely got away with one though, I didn't have him winning that at all. Compubox stats were interesting though.

She got lucky on Saturday though with a weak referee and generous judges.

She got lucky on Saturday though with a weak referee and generous judges. Ref was weak on the clinching alright but in spite of the judges scoring I didn't really think the result of the fight was in question. Similar to the May fight, there wasn't really any question that she lost it Gavan Casey would be an Irish boxing journo I'd have quite a bit of time for and he's usually very fair, and he had Katie as the clear winner on Saturday Croke Park is dreamland stuff though, I can't see it happening and if it did I can't see it being a sellout

Ref also ignored a pretty obvious knockdown in the first (a round that one judge somehow gave to Taylor?!) and ignored a lot of headbutts from Taylor and shoulders from Cameron.
Two very close fights but I can't make a strong argument for either of them to have won clearly on Saturday and I think she had everything go her way.
And aye it never sells out Crime Park imo.
