Looking forward to this more than I looked forward to the football season.

Have to say I'm looking forward to it as much as I was during Brawn's title season after the last raft of rule changes.

I'm looking forward to this F1 season too, hope it stays close between 5 or 6 teams and in a big fuck y'all to the rest of you, I obviously hope Vettel wins the title at the end of it :-D
I do hope it's close though, don't like runaway seasons anymore than the rest of you. Wouldn't mind Rosberg winning it too though if Mercedes are destined to have to best car this year.

Jimbo's a rare Germany > Britain kind of person D: Nah just anti-Hamilton, he's a moany, unappreciative twat. I'd love Button to win over anyone else on the track. Although, yeah, to be fair, I find on the whole German people (celebrities & sports people, certainly) to be much more likeable than British.

Seems to be Vettel you're describing there tbh.
If Ricciardo keeps outperforming Vettel I'll be delighted but it's pretty clear it's just because it's his home race.

Vettel has always acknowledged Red Bull have given him a brilliant drive and at least when he moans it's a somewhat charismatic display (or open and up front about it), rather than the broody, moaning, woe is me routine that Hamilton does. Plus I think Hamilton can be dangerous on track.

My dislike for Vettel came from his first few years at Red Bull. He was as moany as anyone, Hamilton, Alonso etc, take your pick. Then obviously the success came and I disliked him more. He's definitely mellowed now and I love watching him off track, seems very laid back and a nice guy but it's never fun watching someone win four championships in a row, dominating two.
I was a huge Schumacher fan, mainly through being a kid who idolised him but I still realised the racing was boring. Still, Hamilton's a Brit so I want him to win, as with Button. Both can be moany, think Button actually gets pretty bad at times too but them two > anyone else. Don't mind who wins the title, would obviously prefer it to be Hamilton, Button or someone new (Rosberg, Magnussen etc) just don't want a domination. Seeing Merc win a few like Brawn did will be fun because it's a change and that team has never dominated or won consistently but I want a 2010 style season.

I'm a big fan of him off track, but his constant whining down team radio and the Karthikeyan incident the other year just really annoys me. The fact he's had constant success and for Webber's entire time at RB there was a clear favouritism towards him doesn't help either. Just serves to make his ego bigger and his sense of untouchability even worse.

I wasn't even that much of a fan of Webber, I liked him and felt a bit sorry for him but yeah, I don't think Red Bull helped. Despite the fact Webber had been there through their difficult years they clearly saw Vettel as their future star (rightly so) but it did seem to give Vettel some idea that he had more authority, Malaysia finished it off for me last year, the casual way he came on the radio and said 'Get Mark out of the way' as if he expected Newey/Horner to bend over and oblige was annoying and then when they didn't completely ignored orders from his bosses. Racing was at least entertaining, about as good as it got last year to be honest but not really the point. Be nice if Red Bull take a fresh start with Ricciardo with him being younger than Vettel and give him an equal opportunity, unlike taking a new front wing from Webber's car because Vettel's failed....

I think Ricciardo will get a fair crack with Vettel, he'll still be #2 in that team, and rightly so, but he'll be a number 2 who can actually challenge, unlike Webber who I've always believed to be one of the most overrated drivers in F1, whose shortcomings get overlooked because he's a darling of the sport because he's a decent enough guy, an underdog and won a few points with Minardi and Jaguar when he first broke in.
He had 5 years with one of the best 3 cars on the grid, managed to win 9 races and his best finish was #3, he did well in 2010, otherwise I'm not convinced he was doing enough to have such an excellent drive, let alone moan about the guy consistently winning races and championships having the better end of the car package.

Ricciardo has been a bit of a surprise, he didn't realy outperform Vergne that much at Toro Rosso and yet in testing, practice and qualifying he's performed at a decent level for someone in a new car in a new team, outperforming Vettel several times. I reckon in the dry Vettel will be shown up massively without his blown diffuser, everyone who's spoken about Vettel (Hamilton, Button, Alonso, Webber) and been honest have commented that it's in the slow corners he just carries far more speed in and out thanks to the diffuser allowing him to get the power down sooner. Disagree massively about Webber U R GAY, I don't think he's overrated in the slightest. Not underrated by any means, was an above average driver who probably just about performed as to be expected in the second best car on the grid. Fwiw Vettel off track is brilliant, at the track he's a cunt. Disagree with booing and abusing him at present though, hope it's just an Aussie thing rather than something that carries on all year. I remember saying to Rich the Red Bull's would still be good this year lul. Oh and absolute beauty is karma, Hulkenburg gets looked over for the Lotus seat for the moneybags of Maldonado, whose now sat at the back of the grid having spent all of last season at Williams whinging about their performance, and now having to watch them performing well.

For what it's worth, a lot of the 'experts' seem to think once it's sorted its issues that Lotus will be right at the front.
