I think even Vettel today said the result was largely thanks to the heat, would have been interesting to see how close it would have been without the SC. Would love Ferrari to stay competitive though, if Red Bull get their act together and McLaren do finally come storming back as expected there could be some great races.
Already starting to wonder about next season to be honest, with Kimi seemingly leaving there'll be some big competition for that spot now Ferrari are back. Sadly, it seems Bianchi would have been a shoe-in for it. I think Rosberg is seriously disillusioned at Mercedes too, seemed defeated before it began today, asking for constant help and if he keeps getting beat by Hamilton he may decide he needs a fresh start.
Back to Williams with Bottas going to Merc would be possible. Although Hamilton may think twice before dotting the i's and crossing the t's on his new contract until he sees if Ferrari's pace is genuine!

Not sure what to think of that one, Vettel was very close to Hamilton's time yesterday in entirely different conditions so it's not a heat thing, but then Hamilton was on a flying lap that Rosberg slowed him on. You're being harsh on Kimi too, didn't he get a puncture and drive back from last place to 4th (passing the two Williams in doing so), autosport reported yesterday Ferrari have added £100 million odd to their F1 budget this year so this isn't a major surprise. It's great for the season though (already those who claimed they'd never watch a race this season are talking about it again) and a Vettel/Hamilton title fight will be awesome. Toro Rossos may be having second thoughts about the idea of being bought out by Renault now they've seen what the Ferrari engine can do. McLaren looked massively improved, pushing for the points and even managing to split the Lotus' who're running Mercedes engines. If they can get their reliability sorted and actually run a race at 100% engine settings they've got the making of a very good package. Love these two pictures though, they really do sum up so much;

It's weird seeing Vettel win without Horner trying to claim all the glory. I do despise that weasel.

Eh? Were you talking to me re: being harsh on Kimi? I just said I think he's off at the end of the season, his contract's up isn't it? Sure he said he'd leave once it expired.
Also hope Red Bull get back to their best for Verstappen's sake. Such a seriously talented kid, deserves to be in a title winning car later in his career and can't see Red Bull wanting to see Merc or Ferrari snap him up.

I hope Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel, Bottas etc thrash them this weekend. Also hope Ricciardo leaves them for another team next season, then there will be nothing to like about Red Bull then.

I blame Kimi, for Vettel's crash.
Clearly, with it being practise, Vettel went for a piss, Kimi played around a bit with his car to try to catchup with him and BAM! Vettel wrote the car off!

Bernie complaining that fan numbers are falling and he thinks taking it back to V8's and 1000 bhp will fix it. Incompetent old buffoon doesn't realise that it's actually taking races away from Germany, threatening Italy and basically all the European races which are always packed out over three days and giving them to moneybags resorts in the middle east where literally nobody turns up until race day and are run as a loss as they're essentially a marketing opportunity for the country.
Seriously, almost the entire grandstand on the pit straight is empty for FP3, at Silverstone all the grand stands were full.
Anyway, few analysts have suggested the Ferrari's long runs on the soft were actually a second a lap quicker than Rosberg on average. Could be a good race. Slim chance of one of the McLarens getting out of Q1 too.

Rosberg is just so so average. Pleased the Ferraris are showing him up this season.
Edit: Tbf his brakes went so he has an excuse.

Long (and the second part is in the comments section) but brilliant documentary following Alonso's last weekend with Ferrari.
Great insight into him as a driver, as a person, and also into what a full race weekend is like behind the scenes.

Don't think we'll see Monaco's new configuration hit F1 any time soon...
