It’s only in a call centre, which isn’t exactly where I want to be but it’s my way into the finance industry and can give me experience in customer service which is what I want. I’ve applied for a couple of £25k+ jobs lately and been turned down on my lack of customer service experience.
So yeah not exactly storming the world but it’s a start at least.

Good man, that's where I started with Lloyds TSB up in their Glasgow call centre way back. Best of luck!

yes, and don't you forget it, I can visualise the dodgy transactions at any time
I also never ever tried up selling to customers so I'd get a bonus for good customer service and then be on a final warning because my sales were so bad. think that culture has changed completely now though
biggest tip I'd give anyone going for that kind of interview is just emphasise how much you'll try and help the customer, how patient you are in the face of difficult customers etc., you like to try and resolve things without having to pass it on to management etc.
It may be bullshit but you'll learn to be patient tbh. Unsurprisingly rich people are the worst.

Good thing it’s business banking I’m going for. No rich people in that sector.

Got an offer bois.
It’s provisional subject to some background checks which I’ll pass because I’m an innocent man.
Starting 13th of January. I’m going into work tomorrow night with my notice and having Christmas off. Fuck everything else.

Rich old white dudes are just the fucking worst for getting a 7p overdue charge off of Be fucking arsed talking to them in an actual banking context I actually quite enjoyed it because they'd come in all cocky and assuming we'd do everything for them but we were given plenty of leeway to be firm with customers if they were being dicks or unreasonable and that. I think my Irish accent would piss off the Tories even more, I got one fella complaining about the call centre "not even being in bloody Britain" and wanting to be transferred directly to his branch because "Melissa will look after me" etc. Funny thing was we actually weren't given the branch phone numbers because they don't want to be inundated with calls, so I couldn't transfer him there. Ended up a 2 hour complaint call being escalated to the floor manager and all. I think he wanted to transfer money between his accounts and failed security which kicked it all off. His fury still sustains me to this day

Do they need a reference from us? I actually think Gary’s ‘you’ve been around us since you were 12 and you’re the same person’ would’ve been a better reference than I’d get from my manager.

Yeh I've done the Project Management Foundation & Practitioner. A week of learning definitions and wording things in a specific way to pass the exam. The underlying stuff is just all common sense.

Good to hear, I'm doing the online one and I've got 12 months to get through it but I'm aiming for half that. Seems simple enough just massively expensive which I guess most corporate l and d is.
