I don't know what i believe. i believe in something, but not necessarily something being in control - just that the universe and each individual conciousness and all the complicated miracles within both has gotta mean something Can I ask why it has to mean something? How have you reached that conclusion?

Istanbul and Crystanbul to name but two. Soz Cashis I will try to actually make a serious point this time instead . How do you counter sosage's point of "there might be something" with "there's definitely nothing" without taking a punt of equal magnitude into the unknown?

How do you counter sosage's point of "there might be something" with "there's definitely nothing" without taking a punt of equal magnitude into the unknown? im not sure you can (which is why i havent) - however, a God is a bit of a stretch, isn't it? Why dedicate your life to something when you haven't got a clue if it's there or not? Tbf though my main gripe is with the harm religion causes. Thoroughly enjoy this;

I'd say I'm fundamentally a humanist and, whatever your reasoning, if you're bettering the lives of the people around you then you're good.
The main issue with religion in that context is that some put the perceived wishes of their chosen god(s) over the very real well-being of their fellow man, or use their interpretation of their religion to excuse their ill treatment of others (eg. Westboro Baptists).
Everyone's moral belief system is incredibly complex and hard to communicate but that's the broadstrokes of my take on it

How have you reached that conclusion? i'm honestly not sure, i've never devoted a lot of time to my beliefs. since we can't prove the existence of a god/gods/something else either way i can only go by what i individually feel, and what i feel is that there's something greater than me as an individual exists or people as individuals exists. maybe something that connects us or something that has no part to play whatsoever. i honestly don't have any other explanation other than it's how i feel

You clearly have nothing of value to add. I'm not that interested in getting into a discussion on theology with someone who incites hatred against religion whilst complaining that religion incites hatred. Annoying how spot on you are here Pat Condell ffs
