Who do you think was the better player?

Both were exceptional players, I'll pick Keane just to try and make the poll not look too one sided.

Vieira is the best midfielder in premiership history. As good as Keane was, him Gerrard and Scholes are a level below Vieira

Vieira is probably the most misspelt name in football lol.
Best player I've ever seen at Arsenal excluding Henry. Absolutely complete midfielder.

I really would love to have seen Yaya vs Vieira. Vieira would've beasted Toure. As good as Yaya can be, he's quite inconsistent at times.

It's a close call but I'd rather have Keane.
Keane was really underrated technically just because he was a psycho didn't mean that he wasn't an excellent footballer too. Was much more than a destructive midfielder, his passing was really very good and he could control games. Scholes didn't do it as much back then, he was more of a skilful attacking midfielder. So influential and just an all-round class midfielder.
Vieira was great too obviously, taller and more elegant on the ball but not as influential for me.

Keane everyday of the week. To have someone with that much passion in your team and actually be talented, onto a winner. No one comes close to his passion imo

Vieira was probably the better player, but I'd rather play next to Keane.

Gone for Vieira because I always found Keane to be such a wanker as a player and pundit

Vieira was so cultured and elegant and sound as a footballer, a real once in a generation talent...
But Keane was better. A total nutter, but better.

I love that story about Keane helping a young pro at Man United, think it was in the secret footballer's column, I'll have a look.
Found it:

Its a difficult one, both exceptional talents in their prime, but for me Vieira just edges it because of his attacking talents that made him such a good box to box midfielder. He was a major threat to any player ranging from easily tackling some of the greatest strikers like Van Nistelrooy, Shearer but going forward he had some mean shots on him that the best off keepers stuggled against.
Still consider Roy Keane a great too, but only defensively.
