Barca is a very good read.
I've almost finished Danish Dynamite now; they're a very interesting team. Kind of remind me of the current Liverpool team from the style of football they played and then Belgium in the sense that a good group of players kind of some how came together through going off to different leagues. Definitely going to have to find some old footage of them.
Picking the next book is tough. Edging towards Pirates, Punks & Politics: St Pauli, but The Nowhere Men, Soccernomics, The Blind Side & A Season with Verona all look very good too. Anyone read any? @hellas, you read the Verona one?

g7vikings Verona book is a great read from what I remember about it. Love the cheek of Chievo after all that 'flying donkey' stuff to put it on their kits. I want to read LVG's biography but sadly it appears to be only in Dutch and German (as he was the Bayern manager at the time it was published I think). If he's as outspoken and honest in that as he is in public then it'll be an interesting read. something tells me he will be after the frankness of his response he gave the reporter who asked him what he knew of Man Utd.

Just gotten around to finishing a biography on the life of Guardiola, very fascinating read, would recommend it.
Anyone read Andy Morrison's book? Quick google on his life tells me it could be an interesting one.

Yeah it's excellent. Tim Parks is a brilliant author too and his other books on life in Italy (and Verona in particular) are great reads. Really recommend 'A Season...'.

Anyone read any other books of Jonathan Wilson's apart from Inverting the Pyramid? Mean to read the goalkeeper or Behind the Iron Curtain at some stage.

Just gotten around to finishing a biography on the life of Guardiola, very fascinating read, would recommend it. were the chapters all a bit of a sideways step around the big moments in his life, only to end up going back on themselves fifteen chapters later?

Not particularly no, it focuses a lot on his managerial career though, wish there was more on him as a player.

Seems hypocritical that Keane was giving out that Ferguson was writing another book then Keane releases another book within a year.

Think he had a lot more issue with what Fergie was saying more than anything. The bits released so far seem interesting, let me know if it's worth the purchase or if the Robbie Savage story is the highlight

I think part of the problem with these sort of books now is that there is too much leaked to the media when it's released.
Helps to sell the book but when you get it you know the vast majority of the best parts already. At least that was the case with Ferguson's book.

Whilst I find him refreshingly honest and sincere at times, it still doesn't excuse that he's got some fucked up principles and train of thoughts like finding relief in someone having a heart attack.
He harbours A LOT of hatred towards Fergie... I get the feeling those two got on well with eachother and Keane probably thought as Captain he was equal to Fergie as Manager then when the team goes into decline and transition he goes on MUTV, becomes too honest and slags off fellow squad members (arguably rightly at the time iirc) then Fergie pulls him up for undermining the squad so publicly which probably is the first time he got on the wrong side of Fergie. As he feels he's as untouchable as Fergie and just as powerful as him he feels betrayed that someone he perceived as his equal would 'stab him in the back'.. whereas in reality he was just one of the players in Fergie's eyes. This reinforced my opinion when Fergie's book came out last year and said that Fergie had no loyalty to his players.
I'm stunned he still holds a grudge on Haaland. 10 years ago I would understand his point of view.. Admittedly I think I would get revenge on a guy that fucked my knee up (subsequently taking a few years off my future career and putting me out for a whole year after) who then screamed abuse at me immediately after it happened when I'm lying on the floor in extreme pain...but 15 years on he still feels pissed about it despite the fact he's still able to walk, his career was still prosperous after the incident and that his post-playing career has also been prosperous. Haaland's a cunt anyway... I'm pretty sure a few years ago he said the revenge tackle ended his career even though it didn't and it was the fact it was his other knee that finished him iirc.
The interviews he's doing at the moment doesn't help him either. They seem to confirm the prejudice that a lot of people label him with, which is 'bitter sociopathic thug'
