Rinus Michels and Helenio Herrera were both great managers even though one made the game as entertaining as its ever been and the other made it as boring as it is has ever been. Just because Mourinho is conservative, it's no less effective. Mourinho is still one of the best about, it'd just be better if he'd go for it a little bit more. Because he does understand the game tactically as well as anyone and there's been little reason to limit his creative options at Chelsea the way that he has done so far this season in big games, he should have faith in them. That's why you pay big bucks for these attacking talents. Chelsea seem to accept it too readily, he wasn't as bad as that with Real Madrid because he knew the fans wouldn't stand for it.

Don't get me wrong I can see why he does it, I just don't think football should be played like that and I'm sure Mr. Mourinho won't lose any sleep over that.

Impressive as Liverpool have been this season, I think most fans would take the odd drab performance if it meant they get in the champions league

They'll get into the CL playing the good football they've been playing though

i didn't think Chelsea were too bad against Arsenal first half but it's not just the big teams they suck the life out of, they were absolute dogpiss against Swansea today, so very boring and poor.

As soon as we scored it was horrific to watch today. Mourinho seems frustrated with it though so I'm not really sure how much performances like today are down to him.
Not quite sure how Liverpool lost today. Very worried about Sunday.

You don't need to be worried. That was us. Great play but not ruthless enough in either box. Coutinho and sterling will/may be good/top players but right now they miss key passes, chances and make the wrong decisions. Skrtel, Cissokho not good enough etc etc our good manager is masking the deficiencies in the squad. Hopefully he's backed sufficiently tough. I've always liked Rodgers but I'm really starting to believe in him now. And with each pint I believe more and more.
As for styles of play; that's the good thing about modern football. Chelsea on tv? So are Dortmund, Ajax, Barca. Happy days.

If that is the one mistake Migs makes for us this season then it's a damn horrible one.

Haha Gary "every pint I believe in him more". Class.
I'd still be worried this weekend though. The way you're playing is fantastic and in general I've felt Liverpool have had the edge over us for the last couple years. I hate records like Mourinho's home record, there to be broken and didn't Liverpool end our last home record as well?

Aye, if we beat you lot, we're in for a real shout of top 4. We only have Old Trafford to go to then. The Everton, Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle games have all been away, which is one of the reasons I'm shocked we're still up there.

Apparently Jamie Redknapp is coming in to the coaching staff.
This has got to be some strange dream because this series of events cannot actually be happening
