You got him very cheap for a goalkeeper for his standard and age though so could always re-invest if someone comes along that does what you want better than he does or if he can't convert, and sell Mignolet on for not much of a price cut. In the mean time he's more solid than Reina. De Gea is another who'd suit what you've described g7vikings but most 'keepers that play like that are either at top teams already or are unknown and GK is a position you really don't want to take a gamble on signing someone.

Strange thing is, in recent history we've gambled a lot with our keepers. David James came from lower league and was keeper for over half a decade. Westerveld came from a decent Dutch team, Dudek came from one of the better ones and Reina came from a mid-table Spanish team. Migs is the first we've brought in as first choice from a team in this league for years.

I don't know why teams don't spend more money on top young keepers, that is you set for 10 years or more if he's good enough. I'm sure Juventus probably consider the 30m they spent on Buffon to be as good a buy as they have ever bought, De Gea looks to be well worth the money at United too.
