I'd hardly say he was scathing, seemed pretty calm and composed to me. I'd also say there is a difference between playing 10 men behind the ball from the first minute to playing a defensive, counter attacking style. Chelsea have played the latter style twice this season. Twice. People make out they play that way on a weekly basis. I'd rather we didn't take that approach but at the end of the day picking up a point or three playing with a cautious style is better than going all out attack and leaving empty handed. I'm going to not start an argument here, so genuine question: Do you really think that your caution first approach has benefitted you in any of the games you think that you have used it? The one that jumps out to me is the United game where they were so there for the taking it was embarrassing yet Moyes and Mourinho seemed to have agreed on a draw before the first kick lol.

It has benefited them though, they didn't lose to Arsenal or Man United away from home. Can't exactly remember the United game but I don't remember them being shit at all, point gained instead of 2 points dropped.

From what I remember of the United game, Chelsea could have won it if they went for it, instead Mourinho played no striker and held back quite a bit. The Arsenal game I didn't watch so hence the question.

He is, all of those things. He's a cancer to the nobility and humility of managers.

No chance, United have been shit at home this season and looking back now considering the teams that have beaten them at OT since it is definitely 2 points dropped. Also, yeah that. He was scathing, scathing means severely critical, which he was. He can still be right, but he was definitely scathing.

What Mourinho was giving out about is what his Inter team did to beat Barcelona in the Nou Camp in 2010 (beat on aggregate I should say, Barca won the leg and should have won the tie only for a questionable offside decision which no-one remembers which would have made it a comprehensive enough 2-0 win) They got out of their own half even less in that game. So hypocritical.
And the reference to 19th Century football isn't exactly correct eitehr, no-one was defensive in the 1800s.

Mourinho seems to get a free pass for saying shite from the media and it's so fucking annoying. If AVB said that the AVB meltdown headlines would be all over the shop.

There was also the 'referee made the right decision' for some completely wrong decision earlier this year, might have been the Ramires one.

Thought someone booted it off Yaya (iirc) from about a yard away, maybe didn't even hit his arm and Bojan smashed it in top corner? I could be wrong but essentially I'm agreeing with you on both points, he was very fortunate to even beat Barca that year...think one of Milito's goals may have been offside as well. I think he is a very good manager obviously but he has lost the plot a little bit. So hypocritical now. It used to be 'deflecting the blame away from his team onto himself' but comments like this just draw more attention towards Chelsea and make them look silly imo.

If AVB said that the AVB meltdown headlines would be all over the shop. sween mentioned it yesterday, it's probably why he wanted to come back here so much. In Italy and Spain he got called out and challenged for his bullshit whereas here the media sit and giggle over it like lapdogs.

Yeah it was handball not offside. A little bit harsh but wasn't that bad. Take nothing away from Mourinho for that though, I know he's made himself look like an arse but he masterminded that Inter side, who were in no way the best in Europe at the time, to a win over the greatest club side ever (who were near their peak), and then the Champions League.
As for Saturday after the Remy news, I'd take a draw now. Sigh.
