Bit harsh saying Jay Rods is undeserved, been a major part of a side who at the time were in the top 4 in the Premiership.

He didn't say undeserved he said more deserving to be fair.

For Rangers, Maurice Edu got way more abuse than he deserved. Was never the best player, but was steady enough. But anytime something went wrong the blame would be aimed towards him or any time he made a mistake the crowd would get on his back straight away.

Mertesacker and to an extent Koscielny. Mertesacker for his pace (gets done once and he's awful), Koscielny for his mistakes.

I thought Jay Rod deserved his call up based on his form at Southampton. Just saying I equally, and more so, thought Ricketts had earned his place in the squad, which was only an experimental friendly as it was.

Mertesacker is basically just slated by 12 year olds who think FIFA stats mean the world so they abuse despite having never seen him properly run in their lives chances are.

To be fair, Koscielny got so much hate during his first season at Arsenal. Not sure if the stick was justified but he always struck me as a good centre-half, I think he's a quality CB.

Any quality holding or more central mid is going to take a lot of stick over the course of their careers since it seems to the casual that they are not doing much but passing sideways until they make a gaffe.
Quality players like Barry, Carrick, Lucas and Flamini have all been on the receiving end at some point during their careers.

Last minute winner against Celtic might have helped in that regard. Was cool as fuck too.

Titus Bramble at Wigan and Newcastle, good defender just prone to a huge error every now and then. I agree. He was fantastic for Wigan.

Darren Fletcher. Initial years the scapegoat for EVERYTHING that went wrong when Utd were in their mid-00s transition. Turned into a very good player somewhere after 2007 and sadly close to retirement with illness.
Michael Carrick... because he doesn't score 20 goals a season like Gerrard or Lampard did.
Diego Forlan got hailed as an expensive flop but then left for continential Europe and flourished.

I remember Geremi was always looked down on like a second rate player by certain Chelsea fans. Was always a decent tbf. Always really rated him if I remember correctly, very rarely put a foot wrong. Nothing spectacular but solid, I like that sort of player.

Peter Crouch had a bit of that going. People just saw him as a big dangley clumsy guy when he is (was?) actually very skilful.
