I think, right or wrong, there’s a view that last year was a poor year rather than a permanent regression, and from our perspective to be honest, I think it’s worth the gamble, though I do get the point that if he’s regressing it’s not a good move obviously.
I guess I’m contradicting myself slightly but I don’t think we really compete with Dalton at QB, beyond a playoff spot in a weak division as a ceiling, whereas with Carr if he can get back to somewhere near his previous best, there’s a chance he can elevate us.
I have no idea what you’re referring to about coaching, Dennis Allen is a proven winner at this level and is beyond reproach… yeah we’re fucked.

FYI re Olave my point about 'doubling down' was more on the assets and and process it took to get him rather than the player himself (i.e. the Saints have already given up a fair chunk for him so they want to do everything to maximise the success of that pick while they have the chance). We're in an era of super expensive receivers so if you have a good one on a rookie contract it makes sense to have someone on the roster who can get him the ball on a consistent basis while he's still cheap. He was deffo impressive in his first season and I'd probably have him over Wilson at this point.
Also, the fact that the NFC South is in the absolute shitter as it stands QB-wise probably adds to the logic of getting a proven veteran in there to make the team competitive.

Multiple teams who bent over backwards for Deshaun Watson saying no on Lamar within seconds of him becoming available is certainly interesting…

I think DJ has drawn the short straw in the last couple of years with awful QBs supplying him. And knowing the Panthers we’ll probably take a kicker

Niners getting Hargrave is a bit of a mad one. How much help does their D-Line need lol
Jawaan Taylor seems by all account a very good signing for the Chiefs at tackle. Was uncomfortable paying Orlando Brown at or near the top of the market.

The way Rodgers is dragging guys like Lazard and Cobb with him to the Jets seems like sub optimal team building.

The Jets have an actual decent young receiving core as well lol. Mercedes Lewis is 38 years old and hasn't topped 400 yards in a decade and Rodgers is pushing for him too

ange postecoslamp feel free to roast me for this in a year’s time but I’ve genuinely come to the conclusion I’d take Anthony Richardson over Bryce Young. Also, no-one take Quentin Johnston before the 31st pick plz (will also accept Zay Flowers).

Anthony Richardson screams bust to me, shown absolutely nothing to suggest he can succeed in the NFL as a passer.
Lamar is the obvious comparison in terms of being a “run heavy” QB, but go and watch Lamar’s college tape and he’s night and day in terms of his ability to win games as a passer.

Also, no-one take Quentin Johnston before the 31st pick plz (will also accept Zay Flowers). why wait a year? Absolutely insane take imo, Bryce has absolutely everything you'd want in a QB besides height, Richardson has absolutely nothing beyond his physical traits. Absolute best case scenario for Richardson is that he plays 0 genuinely meaningful snaps as a rookie because he is nowhere near ready. His ceiling, imo, is about what Justin Fields is now - he'll be 10x the threat as a runner cos his baseline accuracy is so bad that even with proper focus on fixing his reading of the field and mechanics, he's never going to have that ball placement to make a difference, he's always going to rely on firing it full speed instead. I think Cam Newton is a good pro comp but even he had way more experience coming out, Richardson is about 2 years off being *rookie* Cam. Mad how patient a team will need to be for a QB who will seemingly command a top 10 pick.
