Oppenheimer was amazing. What a cast as well. Got a bit silly when I noticed Gary Oldman getting a 5 minute cameo

Watched Across the Spider-Verse and Oppenheimer the past two nights. Oh my god I loved Barbie so much and yet I think it’s probably the worst film of the big 3 this summer. Did not expect to enjoy Oppenheimer so much at that length but what an absolute masterpiece.

Just got back from The Hunger Games which was a genuinely really good film absolutely destroyed by its final act. The idea of a prequel revolving around the series antagonist is really good but you spend 75% of the film humanising him just to turn him very suddenly evil is bizarre

Saltburn seems to be getting a lot of criticism for being absolutely ridiculous but that was why I liked it?

Watched Goodfellas for the first time last night. All I felt at the end was... meh? Really wasn't bothered about the story at all, and while it had some really nice shots and a couple of good scenes, I just wasn't into it overall. Didn't like any of the characters either, which I suppose is part of the point, but it just meant I wasn't really invested in any of their stories. Like I didn't even care if they got caught, it was just all sorta meh as a storyline. I realise it's based off real life, but felt like it could've benefited from zeroing in on a couple of events rather than the sprawling lifelong epic it tried to be.
Shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as The Godfather imo

Not at all surprised with the Oscar wins last night, although I will say Ryan Gosling being nominated for Barbie and Margot Robbie not is pretty hilarious given the message of Barbie.

I watched Poor Things last night without even knowing how many Oscars it was up for. It’s really fucking weird

Emma Stone is spectacular in it. The most nailed-on Oscars win in history. Was obvious Oppenheimer was going to sweep up most of the rest but it wasn't in my top 3 of the nominees. Anatomy of a Fall, American Ficton and Zone of Interest were my top 3. Maybe it just didn't live up to the hype I'd read but I thought Killers of the Flower Moon was dogshit.

Dune 2 really lives up to the hype. Arguably the perfect blockbuster style movie

I did really enjoy Dune 2 but I’m not getting the same experience a lot of people did. Thought Austin Butler’s character was pretty underdeveloped for who ended up being the main antagonist in the film. Still a very good film though.
