Case going on at the moment, Sauber saying too late to get a super license and change the seat fittings etc. They'll take punishment for ignoring these things until now but sounds like there's little chance VDG will be in the car this weekend.
Even if he does, he's never driven it, and he's shit anyway.

Van Der Garde finally into the paddock after spending half hour or so stuck outside. Sauber have applied for a change of racer to comply with the court order but he doesn't yet have a super license. Likely Sauber doing just enough not to fall foul of a court order whilst doing enough to prevent him from getting the drive.
Also on a tangent Red Bull have a lot of items being delivered, I know for a fact they'll be new bodywork features as they were waiting right up until the last minute for a specific set of tools to be delivered after a delay #InsideInformation

Front nose isn't it? Had a really late crash test to make sure it's ok.

Aye, think they may have cut some vents into the upper bodywork too like the Williams had at the last test.
Not usually too fussed with F1 starting up but I've followed all of testing and the like so I'm well up for this season to start.

Rofl this is golden, can't believe it's gotten so ridiculous that the Monisha might be arrested. Has any other F1 boss been sent to jail during a race weekend?

Poor McLaren, nearly 4 seconds off the pace (I think I figured out the cut off for 107% is about 6 seconds) and from Button's response after FP2 the hope that they'd be closer when they turned the engine up to full power has vanished.
It's weird, those in the know have praised the car beyond belief for the package they've put together, it's been described as "aggressive" and the aero work has been highly praised. So the engine must be an absolute rotter if they're off even what the tail enders were putting in last season with their first use of the new engines.
Alonso must be kicking himself because Ferrari look in a good position to challenge for podiums, think Vettel will have a good year.
Disagreed with Rich on Twitter yesterday that Manor won't qualify for the race (107%) but after no running all day, no testing, a 2014 chassis and apparently a 2014 engine (contrary to what I'd read, quotes from Ferrari saying no money no honey) with a driver who has never driven the car or the course, I'd be amazed if they start.
Looking at a 16 car grid, worst case scenario 14.

Toro Rosso look good but it would seem at the minute the running order is...
Mercedes Ferrari Williams Red Bull Toro Rosso Lotus Sauber Force India McLaren Manor
And @djewardsmith why do you say 14? Manor maybe not, Sauber it depends but who's the other team in danger?

Urgh, just seen qualifying results. Won't be watching F1 this season unless something drastic happens and that's a shame. There was a time when I'd count F1 as my 2nd favourite sport, it's slipped to about 7th or 8th now and is no longer essential viewing, not sure it'll even be fun background noise this season like it's been for the past few years.
Gonna be worse than 2011, 2013 & 2014 where unless one of them retires, it's gonna be 1/2 all season, and with Hamilton being a comfortably better driver than Rosberg, it's probably not gonna be much of a title race either, like someone said earlier, Rosberg challenged last year but Hamilton had some of the worst luck ever known in the first half of the season and that at least kept it interesting as a title race, 9 times out of 10, if they're racing 1 on 1 with nothing stopping either of them, Hamilton was winning.

Think that's a bit much tbh, Vettel was never really troubled by Webber whereas Rosberg sometimes out performed Lewis last year, if we get more battles ike they had in Bahrain then it'll be worth watching.
Then there's the Williams and Ferrari extremely closely matched.
And the Toro Rosso getting within 0.2 seconds of their parent team on half the budget. As the BBC put it;
Speaking of which, Horner is SEETHING about the Renault engine and had a meeting with them earlier. Used some colourful language when describing the issues too.

McLaren qualified last. This is going to be a long season, hopefully its just "teething" problems for Honda and they can get it right soon. Alonso must have looked at the qualifying result and thought "what the hell have I let myself in for here?"

Bit of a farce of a race that, reliability worse than last season. Best thing about it was the press conference after;
Away from his car and away from a pressure situation Vettel's brilliant.

Also, lol at Red Bull throwing their toys out the pram now they're not on top.

I can't tell if Vettel's responses were said with a bit of bite or all tongue in cheek. Good though.
Feels weird for me watching any grid without 22 cars as that's all I've ever known, so seeing 15 or so only starting was pretty poor.Feel so abd for Button. Honda's a dog. Encouraging weekend for Sauber.
