You can't see how having two teams will benefit big clubs? You can't see why having two teams will increase the squad size therefore the ability to get even more young players into their club at no risk to themselves because if their B team doesn't win the league then who cares?
Some of us actually have to test our youngsters in the first team to help them progress not just loan 30 of them out or even better still have a fucking professional second team.
It's an absolute joke.

We're not allowed to have young players ourselves these days Chappy, the rules are that any good young player has to go to a top 6 club so they can meet the home grown quota.

And then they don't develop at that club because the fuckers don't play them so they're creating these B teams to progress them which only benefits the big clubs which is my point.
Let's take all of Middlesbroughs, Crewes and others best young players for small fees throw them in the B team and if we strike lucky with one or two then woohoo. If not then throw them back in the pile.

Read through this thread to see the multitude of people who do care who most likely have no interest in the lower leagues and as djed said, look at all the high profile pundits/journalists/people on the radio who are rallying against this bullshit. "If we're being honest" you chat complete and utter shit. I'm not one to gun for you and I don't have a problem with you but you're reaching interesting new levels of bollocks by the day at the minute. I don't think they care as such. They don't agree with the concept of it, neither do I. But I don't really think fans of big premier league clubs will loose any sleep over this. A few members on here don't reflect the views and opinions of hundreds of thousands of fans. You can say I'm chatting shit if you like but you're kidding yourself if you think the overwhelming majority are overly bothered. News flash sweetheart, you don't speak for every other football fan in the Premiership. I would advise you to remember that - your misguided opinions are just that - yours alone.

I'm saying how are youngsters expected to progress as players and eventually make the first team playing in such a poor standard of league. Sorry if that sounds disrespectful but it's true. Try playing them then. Oh but we know that doesn't happen.

Calm it down, bro. If we're being honest the only people who really care about this are those who support teams in leagues one and two. Why would a Chelsea, United, City or Arsenal fan particularly care what happens? It doesn't affect them or their club. Like I said I don't agree with it but if it was to go ahead I wouldn't be that bothered. Read through this thread to see the multitude of people who do care who most likely have no interest in the lower leagues and as djed said, look at all the high profile pundits/journalists/people on the radio who are rallying against this bullshit. I'm Irish so I don't care about how the English team does but I feel that the English league system should be protected because it is a unique, historic system. Clubs exist there that are 100 years older than some of the richer clubs around Europe. No-one cares for their lower leagues like they do in England, attendances are off the charts for the level that is played.

Genuinely think this is a whole other level of stupidity. It's like you just have to be different for the sake of it ffs. You say "it's wrong" which is correct, but then go on to argue how it's not a big deal anyway cos it doesn't really affect the career development of such talents as Jhon Pirez and Marco Van Ginkel ffs.

Isn't the bigger problem with England's lack of quality players due to how we train kids? Around other European countries and South America kids are trained on small pitches with smaller and heavier balls, to get them used to close control, constantly passing and moving and to get the kids used to always being on the ball. In England we shove 9 year olds onto huge 11 a side pitches where it's easy for players to go most of the game barely touching the ball. Plus the fact that a lot of academies turn away players for being deemed too short or too skinny, because obviously once you reach 14 you simply cease to grow and will never gain weight or muscle from that point on.
The problems with how we develop our youth are present long before they reach U21 level.

As if the game isn't clogged up already
It isn't necessarily going to give young English players a kick start so much as giving shite a run for the sake of. Do not want or need.

My point was you're more concerned with the development of some youth players some of whom will NEVER make it at Chelsea than you are about the death of clubs with 100's of years of history between them. Regardless of whether they're your club or not, you should care, and a lot of people do, hence there's hatred towards MK Dons cos they fucked over Wimbledon's survival, Darlington's death being quite a big deal, etc.
