OK. Watched Cowspiracy. The only part I enjoyed was when the doctor talked about cows milk. However, as I am not completely thick, I already know you're not supposed to drink Cows milk. You're not supposed to eat raw sugar either but lots of people do and have done for centuries.
I can see how that documentary could make people want to go vegan or at least look into it but it was just another preachfest to me.
Food Inc had a far greater effect on me, but I got over it. I'll probably be dead before anything changes as dramatically as these people wish it to anyway.
Enjoy your genetically engineered soy milk you fucking hypocrites.

I'm always a bit sceptical when people say people aren't 'supposed' or weren't 'designed' to when talking about consuming something that adds obvious nutritional benefit for for vast majority of a lifespan (like meat and milk as opposed to, say, tobacco).
You could say what happened was that human knowledge of medicine outpaced our bodies' natural ability to protect itself for a reasonable period of time. It's a bit grim but from a purely evolutionary point of view we really aren't that useful once we're beyond child-rearing age.
Even ignoring that and assuming there is a way we can all happily live to 100+ (or just extend as long as possible), another thing that muddies the waters is when people talk about the science backing their new claims and pull out one or two reports of studies that agree with what they're saying. Nutritional science doesn't have anything like the levels of consensus that other science do (e.g. the 95% that say climate change is happening and man-made). That's why we seemingly get contradictory information every other week. Part of the reason is that it's really hard to test in a controlled environment over a meaningful period of time. People can't eat one type of food in isolation so it is very difficult to actually say definitively whether food type X causes Y or not (and no two diets are the same). Factors like what you happened to eat food X with during a meal or how long you chewed for have a big impact on how it's digested which introduces a huge amount of variables into the mix. Really what these reports can, at best, claim was that the people who happened to include X in their diet during this study displayed an increased risk to developing disease Y. That's not the same as saying X causes Y.

Can’t wait to take my kids to the hills of Yorkshire one day and point out all the rape slave milk machines.

Loads of my mates are vegan these days and fair play to them. The health benefits are pretty inarguable like, they've all lost weight.
I try and cook vegetarian when I'm at home, still usually have meat when I'm out because the veggie options are shit. Not overly arsed about the animals but I'd like to reduce my environmental impact even if it's just a little bit

Isn't that just down to them paying more attention to what they're eating and inevitably cooking more at home/from scratch out of necessity? I'm pretty much anti-vegan at the moment. I've found the Keto diet to be very effective for me so I'm pretty much living on meat and cheese at the moment.

Yeah I don't think going vegan automatically equals healthier because it depends what you eat, you could be a vegan and eat sugar all day.
When I'm eating well I don't follow a particular diet precisely, I guess it's a bit of Paleo/Keto. Works for me anyway.

Dairy gives me horrific bum splurts so the fact that vegan puddings are becoming more popular in restaurants is great, just what you need after a 12oz ribeye

Linda McCartney sausages are sound as fuck.
I do feel that with most vegan friendly food, especially meat substitutes, you need some sort of sauce because there’s no natural juices. Although there is a place in the US that makes its burgers with something to replicate myoglobin so you get the ‘rare’ effect.
