Although you make a good point on how the English public is, consider that England is the sort of country that should be hosting the World Cup. Why? Because England, like many other European countries, could host it tomorrow. That's the sort of country it should be held in.
However, as it's FIFA and they arent really football people, they just award it to whichever country has the highest number of unbuilt stadiums.

I'd love to see it in England actually. Personally I don't care who gets it as long as they actually have decent stadiums. I remember being a kid staying up til 2-3 am just to watch Ronaldo/Ronaldinho in their prime.

it's genuinely baffling to me that for qatar, not only is the main stadium not built, the city that it'll be in doesn't exist either
how did ANYONE not suspect/reveal something sooner?

Its like the worst kept secret ever. It doesn't get anymore ridiculous than it did at the time that Qatar would host a World Cup. I agree that the World Cup shouldn't be in Europe every four years but look at Australia or USA and if you have to pick Asia then there are more suitable places as well.

"It really makes me sad," he added.
i'm sure the 4,000 families that will lose a father/brother/son will take great solace in that

Don't care where the world cup is tbh as long as the games are good.
The time issue shouldn't be a problem either because the world doesn't revolve around England so why should it matter what time the games kick off here.
Also on the USA attendance thing, someone told me USA are taking the most fans to Brazil, don't know how true that is.

Always thought he was a bit of a cunt and now he's proved it. Must be well aware something's going on.

Gonna take part in snc's favourite past-time and be the one to say it: This man is becoming a fucking parody of himself now. Wow. Its just funny and sad now.
Is it possible for a FIFA president to be impeached?

If he's coming out with this racist shite why is no one accusing FIFA of homophobia for allowing a country which imprisons people for being gay to host the thing? It's probably a more valid accusation than what Blatter's coming up with. He's so out of touch.

Sky Sports News @skysportsnews · 7m BREAKING: Senior UEFA officials call on Sepp Blatter to end his FIFA presidency #SSN Well this is getting interesting. Not really, Platini wants the top job so it's no surprise. The man had the audacity to criticise the British media for focusing on 'corruption' and bribery and deem it as racist (though it is intruiging why we're the only nation with journalists who get these 'scoops', do other nations even care), and then stand up and in championing himself for re-election tell an African delegation that he'd ensure they got more money if he was re-elected.

Surely if Platini wants the job though he's not doing himself any favours by showing how disposable the head can be?
