Not like it was a major tournament but we hosted the under 17 world cup recently despite that time probably being when the violence was at it's worst without anything happening. Not like everyone is running around shooting each other every minute of the day. I'm perfectly aware of the shit happening there but if the pope can come whenever the fuck without issues I think a World Cup will be plausible.
I'm just not liking how easily you dismiss the other countries here when Mexico has better and bigger stadiums than USA.
Anyway yeah I think Australia would be a good shout for the WC.

The US has four football stadiums with an official capacity larger than Azteca. If I'm not mistaken that is the only stadium Mexico has with larger than 70,000 capacity. The US has dozens and dozens of ultra-modern stadiums with larger capacities than that. That argument is just completely false. As for hosting the U17 championships, that's nice and all, but that draws less than 1/3 of the attendance the World Cup would and a vast deal less of a media frenzy. Do you really think Mexico is in a position to have enough modern amenities outside Mexico City to host that many people without looking like shit on a world stage like Russia just did for the Olympics is Sochi?

Estadio Azteca, Jalisco, Omnilife, La Bombonera/Nemesio Diez, Estadio Azul, Corona, Olimpico Universitario, Hidalgo all have a capacity of 30+ thousand. Omnilife is probably the most modern stadium we have atm.
Yeah it's the only one with over 70 thousand capacity but how many of those stadiums in USA are made for football with natural grass? I'm not saying your stadiums are shit but ours are designed/made for football specifically.

Oh man, 30,000 plus? That must be huge. No way the United States could ever contend with something like that. Oh wait, the US has 177 stadiums with an official capacity of larger than 30,000. I guess Mexico just has too many to contend with though.

Again how many of those are made for football specifically/have natural grass and not that artificially shit? There's a lot more to a football stadium than just size you know.

I'm not saying your stadiums are shit but ours are designed/made for football specifically. Nearly all of them. Not to mention the US has the infrastructure available to provide natural grass for all of our outdoor stadiums quite easily even if they use artificial grass normally. That's not even an issue when talking about US stadiums. Many of our largest stadiums have been used already for previous World Cup games from 1994, to host friendlies for major European sides or for CONCACAF qualifiers. If the US were to host the World Cup in the current 32 team format we would crush the 1994 attendance record and set one that no country on the planet would even come close to.

BMO Field is nowhere near WC worthy lol Hence why I said some would need some work. There Is already plans to expand it in place and to add a roof.
